**Diary Entry Love Versus Resentment: A Mother-to-Be and Her Mother-in-Law**
*”Youre joking, right? Three babies at once? Are you trying to ruin my sons life?”*
It all began with an explosiona sharp voice, trembling with fear but above all, dripping with rejection.
That evening, I came home shaking. The ultrasound images played in my mind like a haunting melody: three heartbeats. Three lives. Three miracles.
When I softly broke the news to William, I expected panic. Instead, he held me tight, his eyes shining.
*”Three babies at once Its a blessing, Emily!”*
I sobbed into his chest. After five long years of treatments, waiting, doubting life had given us three treasures at once.
But one shadow remainedMargaret. His mother. She had never accepted me. To her, I was a mistake, a woman who couldnt bear an heir.
The following week, we visited her. Placing a hand on my stomach, she sneered with disdain.
*”Still on your silly diets? Barren you were, barren youll stay, poor thing”*
When William calmly told her we were expecting triplets, silence fell. Then came the mocking.
*”Three? Thats madness!”*
*”You want to chain my son to a life of chaos?”*
*”Those test-tube babies will never be normal!”*
I stood up, trembling and then everything went black.
At the hospital, the diagnosis was clear: complete rest. Stress could undo everything. William vowed to protect meeven from his own mother.
But Margaret returned. Again. With her poison, her doubts.
*”You really think theyre yours? Shes fooled you, William!”*
Finally, William snapped.
*”Either you respect my family, or youre no longer part of it.”*
He slammed the door. And it never opened for her again.
The pregnancy was hard, but the children arrivedtwo boys, one girl. Healthy. Wrapped in boundless love.
Margaret never came. She refused to acknowledge *”those unnatural things.”* But in our home, there was no room for bitterness. Only love.
One evening, as I rocked one of the babies to sleep, I whispered,
*”Even one would have made me happy But three? Its as if life healed every wound in a single stroke.”*
And William whispered back,
*”What we have is priceless. No one and nothing can take that from us.”*
**Lesson learned:** Love doesnt count costsit multiplies blessings. And sometimes, the family you choose is stronger than the one youre born into.
