**Diary Entry**

Yesterday, he came home and said quietly, Im sorry. Ive fallen for someone else. Ill support the boys, but Im leaving. Forgive me, if you can. Just like that, Edward walked out, leaving Emily alone with the children. The next day, a chat with our neighbour opened my eyes to the truth.

I married late. University kept me busy, then work took over entirely. Thats where I met himEdward. We collided one morning as I rushed to the office, and he swore it was love at first sight. That evening, as I left work, he appeared out of nowhere, holding an umbrella over my head and a bouquet in his hand. That was the beginning. Flowers, surprises, giftssix months later, we married. A year after that, our first son arrived.

I put on weight during the pregnancies, but Edward never minded. Then came our second boy, and the extra pounds stayed. I never returned to work, devoting myself to the house and the boys. Meanwhile, Edward built his own little computer repair business. I didnt even notice when he started drifting away. This past year was the hardestvanishing for work, endless business trips. I never guessed those trips werent for work at all. Then yesterday, he walked in and shattered everything.

Eight months passed.

Last night, the intercom buzzedEdward, here to see the boys. We exchanged stiff words before I retreated to the kitchen. Then my phone rang. Hi, I answered. Thought youd forgotten about us.

Never, came the warm reply. How could I forget happiness? Ill pick you all up tomorrow. You and the boys will love the new place. I love you.

I hung up, smiling. Frank had just proposedwed be moving in together. As I turned to check on the boys, Edward stood frozen in the hallway. Hed heard everything.

Am I too late? he muttered, staring at the floor.

Yes! I laughed, unable to hide my joy.
