I kicked my wife out of the house and shielded my daughter from her after discovering where shed been taking the girl.
My wife and I have been together for six years. She has an eight-year-old daughter who was just two when we met. The girls father left months before she was born, then suddenly turned up on our doorstep in December while I was at work. When my daughter first saw him, he showed no interest in her whatsoever.
Two weeks later, my wife announced theyd agreed on shared custody. She refused to tell me where the man lived or even give me his number.
My wife always drives our daughter to and from school and after-school clubs.
But in early January, I noticed our girl became reluctant to visit her father. She said he was scary, the place was filthy, and she couldnt sleep there. She told meright in front of her motherthat she never wanted to go back. Then, last Friday
My wife finished work at 8 p.m. and was supposed to pick up our daughter right after. By 9 p.m., they still werent home, and she wasnt answering her phone. I called her sisters, her mumno one knew where she was. I even went to her workplace, but the place was empty.
Just after 2 a.m., my wife and daughter finally walked in. I stood up, furious. My wife gave me an innocent look and said, Sorry. Her story was this:
Her phone died at work. She drove to her exs place but thought no one was home. Unable to call him, she waited. They finally showed up after 9 p.m. with takeaway. The father claimed theyd walked to the shop and grabbed food on the way back. My wife went inside and let them finish eating. Then she said she dozed off on the sofa, woke at 1:45 a.m., and rushed home. She insisted shed had a long, exhausting day.
Finally, she gave me the mans address and asked me to drop our daughter off there the next day. When we arrived, I was horrifiedit was a rundown shack by the motorway, in a rough part of town! The place was crawling with cockroaches, beer bottles everywhere. The man sat there in his underwear, staring blankly at the wall. I turned right around and took my daughter home.
Tonight, I found out my wife had been giving him money and topping up his phone using our family budget. Had they become a couple? Either way, Id had enough of the liesit was clear theyd been together.
Last night, I told her to leave and demanded she let our daughter stay with methe only place shes safe. I wont send her back to that dump! My mother-in-law fully supports her living with me, and legally, Im listed as her guardian.
I suppose Ive no other choice. Time will tell how this unfolds.
